asciitor privacy policy
Privacy policy for the asciitor Android application.
Effective date: July 11, 2026
asciitor is a local Android document editor and previewer for plain-text documents such as AsciiDoc, Markdown, and text files.
Data collection
asciitor does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data.
The app does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, account sign-in, or a backend service.
Local document access
When you choose a document, Android grants asciitor access to that file through the system document picker. The file content is read on your device so you can edit or preview it. When you save a document, the updated content is written back to the file location you selected.
Document content stays on your device unless you choose to store the file in a location managed by another app or cloud provider. In that case, that provider’s own terms and privacy practices may apply.
Local app storage
asciitor stores a small amount of app preference data on your device, including recent document references and preview font settings. This information is used only to provide app features and is not sent to the developer.
Network access
asciitor does not request the Android internet permission and does not intentionally send data over the network.
The app includes an in-app privacy policy link that opens this page in your browser. Opening that link may share normal browser request information with the website host and your browser according to their privacy practices.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the app’s behavior changes. The latest version will be published at:
