Homey 1.2 Release Notes
More reliable imports, shopping and planning, reminders, and Android 16 support in Homey 1.2.
Homey 1.2 makes grocery imports more dependable, strengthens everyday shopping and planning flows, and completes the first code-coherence audit. It also adds Android 16 compatibility while retaining Android 7.0 as the minimum supported version.
Highlights
Import receipts with fewer corrections
-
BigBasket PDF imports preserve individual item rows and complete the staged import flow instead of leaving matched items behind.
-
Trusted matches can be confirmed automatically, while ambiguous matches stay available for review.
-
Position-aware receipt scanning improves how OCR text is reconstructed into product rows.
Keep groceries and shopping lists dependable
-
Expiry status is classified by calendar day, avoiding time-of-day shifts in labels such as expiring today.
-
Recipes use all configured meal tags when planning.
-
Automatic shopping-list entries are generated only from confirmed shortages.
-
Generated entries are persisted, retain their purchased state, and are reconciled without creating duplicates.
Make household planning work as configured
-
Planner drawer navigation and sidebar selection remain isolated and visually consistent.
-
Item and list tags can be entered and persisted from their editing flows.
-
Vacation mode now records a start and end date so notification suppression can operate over the selected period.
-
Android 13 and newer devices request notification permission at runtime, and scheduled routine and task items can deliver reminders.
-
Routine and checklist definitions are separated from their per-day completion snapshots, preserving reusable configuration and daily progress independently.
Strengthen compatibility and data safety
-
Dead Mission and Blueprint persistence code has been removed, with explicit Room migrations protecting existing local data as the schema evolves.
-
Homey now targets Android 16 and API level 36, including Android 16-compatible edge-to-edge handling and 16 KB page-size packaging support.
-
Android 7.0 remains the minimum supported version.
